Christian Brunhøj joins Svea Solar as new CFO

Svea Solar, one of Europe's leading solar energy companies, has almost doubled its growth for the fifth consecutive year. In 2022, the turnover was over SEK 2 billion and the ambition is to continue to double growth in 2023. A key person in this journey is Svea Solar's new CFO, Christian Brunhøj.

Christian Brunhøj has extensive experience as a management consultant at McKinsey, co-led the turnaround of the Norwegian company Broadnet (now GlobalConnect), and has recently been CFO of Nets Merchant Services. Christian takes up his new role as CFO of Svea Solar in May.

- I have come to know Svea Solar as a company with a strong vision of eliminating fossil energy and with an ambitious and dedicated team, and I am impressed by what the company has achieved so far. With a strong market position and growth platform, I believe Svea Solar has all it takes to become the leading solar energy company in Europe. I am very excited to join and contribute to the continued growth journey, says Christian Brunhøj, new CFO at Svea Solar.

Today, Svea Solar has operations in five European countries and has over 1,200 employees. In 2023, the company plans to grow to 1,800 employees with a revenue of approximately SEK 4 billion.

 - We were once again ranked as one of Europe's fastest-growing companies in 2023 by Financial Times and we don’t plan to slow down, here Christian will be a key player. I look forward to working closely with Christian and growing the company to make Europe more self-sufficient in clean energy, says Erik Martinson, co-founder, and CEO of Svea Solar.

This is one of many new recruitments Svea Solar has made in the past year, with the aim of becoming the leading solar energy company in Europe by 2026.

 - We are excited to welcome Christian to Svea Solar. With strong and dedicated leaders like Christan we can grow both sustainably and quickly and phase out more fossil fuels faster. He has the expertise, personality, and experience that we need to achieve our goal of becoming Europe's leading solar energy company, says Hanna Mannberg CHRO at Svea Solar.
